Devon BCU Commander

Chief Superintendent Joanna Tennant

Jo Tennant joined Devon & Cornwall Police in 1983. Her career has taken her from pounding the beat in Devonport to working for the Home Office on a national counter terrorism manual.

She has a particular interest in public protection issues including domestic abuse and child protection. In her spare time, Jo works for Exeter Women’s Aid as a volunteer and sits on their management group.

Promoted to Chief Superintendent in June 2007, Jo currently holds the position of BCU Commander for Devon which entails leading nearly two thousand members of the Constabulary’s Police officers and staff.
