Chief Superintendent Joanna Tennant
Devon BCU Commander
Jo Tennant joined Devon & Cornwall Police in 1983. Her career has taken her from pounding the beat in Devonport to working for the Home Office on a national counter terrorism manual.
She has a particular interest in public protection issues including domestic abuse and child protection. In her spare time, Jo works for Exeter Women’s Aid as a volunteer and sits on their management group.
Promoted to Chief Superintendent in June 2007, Jo currently holds the position of BCU Commander for Devon which entails leading nearly two thousand members of the Constabulary’s Police officers and staff.
Temporary Chief Superintendent Andy Bickley
Plymouth BCU Commander
Andy Bickley joined Devon & Cornwall Police in 1984. He has enjoyed a varied career undertaking roles within Force, the Region and within National portfolios. His operational service has predominantly been in uniform where he has specialised as a Firearms, Public Order and Critical Incident Commander.
Promoted to Temporary Chief Superintendent in June 2009, Andy currently holds the position of Police Commander for Plymouth, leading 800 members of staff including Police Officers, Support Staff and PCSO’s.
