Performance against Statutory Performance Indicators

Statutory Performance Indicators (SPIs) is the term used to describe the quantitative data used to consider Police Performance. The Home Secretary sets SPIs annually following consultation and police forces are subsequently required to supply and monitor data. The SPIs primarily cover key policing outcomes and police authorities must also publish force data locally.

Tackling crime

• To deliver a positive outcome in at least 40% of all offences - July 2011

2010 - March 2011

• SAC - To achieve a reduction of at least 2% in Serious Acquisitive Crime - (March 2011)
• To achieve a reduction of at least 9% in Violence With Injury - (March 2011)
• To deliver a positive outcome in at least 38% of all offences with an expectation that of this 35% will be brought to justice - (March 2011).
