What you can do to help
How you can help to tackle antisocial behaviour
Working with our partners, we have made tackling antisocial behaviour a priority for all of our staff, and are pleased that reported incidents have gone down by 13,190 incidents (April 2009- March 2010 compared to April 2008- March 2009).
However, you can also play an important role, by reporting antisocial behaviour when you see it. Reporting incidents of antisocial behaviour may prevent the same problem happening again and will help to make your neighbourhood a safer place.
Evidence from victims and witnesses is important because it demonstrates the distress and annoyance of antisocial behaviour, and shows how it damages the community. If you report being a victim or witness of antisocial behaviour, support is available to help you at every stage of action.
You could also think about joining your local neighbourhood watch scheme, becoming a police volunteer or a special constable. By playing an active role in your community you can really help to make a difference and make your neighbourhood a place where anti-social behaviour is tackled and not tolerated.
