Winter driving advice

Please don't let defective lights cause an unnecessary accident

Keep your lights shining

We would like drivers to check their vehicles in readiness for the winter months. With shorter daylight hours, drivers are reminded that they should ensure that all the lights on their vehicles are in full working order. Many vehicles have been seen spotted across the counties driving without lights when conditions are poor and during the twilight hours.

Drivers should ensure that their vehicles are in full working order, especially their lights, even during daylight hours.

It is a statutory requirement under the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989 to ensure that all obligatory lamps are in working order. Please do not let defective lights contribute to an unnecessary accident.
