Pedestrian critical after collision, Exeter

A 19-year-old man has serious head injuries after being involved in a collision with car in Mary Arches Street, Exeter, shortly after 12 midnight today, Friday, February 24, 2012.
The man, who is a student in the city but not originally from Exeter, was a pedestrian at the time of the collision. He sustained serious head injuries and was taken to the RD&E Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
Mary Arches Street was closed while initial police investigations were carried out and those investigations continue – although the area has now been reopened to traffic.
Police would like to hear from anyone who may have been driving in the area at the time or may have witnessed the collision.
