Manslaughter verdict following trial - Truro Crown Court

Sandra Clinch has been convicted of manslaughter with diminished responsibility following a week’s trial at Truro Crown Court.
She has been sentenced to 9 years imprisonment for the manslaughter of her husband Alan Clinch at their home in Liskeard on 13 May.
Following the verdict Detective Inspector John Ardron, Senior Investigating Officer in the case, said:
“The jury has decided upon a verdict of manslaughter for this case which we must accept. It was a needless attack which was undeserved and resulted in fatal consequences for Alan Clinch.
“Alan has been described as a kind, gentle and easygoing man who did a lot charity work within the community
“I would like to thank those involved in bringing this case to court. Our thoughts are with Alan’s brother Peter and his wife who we hope will find some closure following today’s verdict.
