PCSO injured in Torquay

A police community support officer has been injured whilst assisting police officers in the detention of a suspect for shoplifting on The Strand in Torquay.

At 11.45am on Monday 26 November, during an arrest in connection with Operation Action, the suspect also received an injury to his head. Both were taken to Torbay Hospital by ambulance.

The arrested man, aged 30, was from Stockton. Perfume was recovered at scene.

Operation Action is a high profile anti-shoplifting initiative, run by local police, working with businesses and partner agencies in the run up to Christmas.
