Captain charged with being over the limit

A 51 year old ship’s captain has been charged with being drunk in charge of a vessel at Teignmouth.
Police were called to the harbour at about 6.30 p.m. on Saturday 15 December 2012 as The Sandetti was preparing to leave. The captain failed a breath test and was arrested.
Gert Kolkman from Horlingen, Holland, has since been charged with the offence of being the professional master of a ship whilst over the prescribed limit and will appear before Torquay Magistrates this morning, Monday 17 December 2012.
