Ram raid Totnes - appeal re wooden post

Police investigating the Christmas Day burglary at Bridgetown Post Office, Totnes, are appealing for information about a wooden post that was left at the scene. The post was marked Torbay Totnes Trail, John Musgrave Trail, and County Road, Devon County Council. Officers hope that someone who regularly walks the trail may be able to pinpoint where the sign was taken from.

A 4 wheel drive vehicle was used to smash a window in the premises and the suspects made off in a Subaru. The Subaru later crashed on the A381 and one of the occupant, a 25 year old man was arrested.

He wasinterviewed and is currently on police bail until March 2013.

Detective are appealing for anyone with any information about the burglary at the post office, the stolen Subaru or information about where the wooden post has been taken from. If you have any information please call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 quoting crime reference JS/12/1347.
