Sexual assault appeal, Liskeard

Police in Liskeard are appealing for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted in the town.

The incident took place at around 0130 hours on Tuesday, 1 January and the victim was a 36-year-old local woman.

The woman was walking through the Cattle Market Car Park, into Varley Lane and past Bowling Green Court at the time of the incident.

As she approached the cut through which leads into Lanchard Road, she felt a push to the back of her head and was threatened by a man.

She also felt her dress being pulled up from behind.

She turned and ran home but sustained whiplash injuries as a result of being pushed in the back of her head.

The man is said to have had a Cornish accent.
