Associated Image

Police are appealing for information after a man was struck in the face with a glass bottle in a Plymouth pub.

The 20-year-old was subject to the unprovoked attack while he was dancing with a woman on the dance floor at the Walkabout Inn, Union Street.

A man approached the victim and hit him across the face with what is thought to be a Bulmers cider bottle. The victim, from Plymouth, was treated in hospital for a large cut below his eye.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault which happened close to the DJ box just after 1.30am on Sunday 10 February.

The suspect is described as a white man, approx 6ft tall, and wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans. He had tattoos on his arms including a large tattoo on his left bicep.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call police on 101, quoting crime ref EC/13/1340.
