Alcohol and you
The government recommends that men should not regularly consume more than 3 - 4 units a day and women 2 - 3 units per day. Regular consumption above these levels may have adverse affects on your health.
The NHS defines binge drinking as: "drinking an excessive amount of alcohol in a short space of time 1."
- For men: drinking eight or more units of alcohol in one session.
- For women: drinking more than six units in one session.
Consequences
The health consequences of drinking alcohol can be varied, and can impact on your physical and mental wellbeing. Your drinking behaviour may also have a social impact as your friends and family face the consequences of your actions.
