The 'fatal four'

The four main causes of serious injuries and deaths on the region’s roads, known as the ‘fatal four, are:

If you commit one of these offences you are not only putting your life at risk but also the lives of any passengers you are carrying as well as other road users and pedestrians.

In 2012, there were 554 fatal or serious collisions in Devon and Cornwall. More than 60% of these were caused by these four factors.

The 'think safety' campaign gives motorists advice on how to drive safely and avoid being one of these statistics.
