Information Sharing Agreements (ISA)
The Devon and Cornwall Constabulary works with a number of partner agencies to jointly tackle issues relating to policing, crime and anti-social behaviour, supported by ACPO guidance on the Management of Police Information (MOPI).
D&CC will share information based on the following hierarchy of legal powers; A legal duty or obligation to disclose (e.g. Children's Act & Criminal Justice Act 2003), a power to disclose under statute law (e.g. Crime & Disorder Act 1998, Housing Acts etc), or by the application of Common Law.
Whilst accepting the principles of the Human Rights Act 1998, and specifically Article 8 of the European Convention of Human Rights, the Force will work in partnership with our partner agencies to ensure that information will be made available to partners in the least intrusive format to identify emerging issues, monitor joint performance or jointly tackle individual behaviour.
INFORMATION: The sharing of information with partner agencies is controlled in accordance with the Force Information Sharing Protocols or Agreements.
IMAGES/PHOTOGRAPHS: Additionally, in specific cases or within some Information Sharing Protocols or Agreements the Force will provided copies of police owned images to assist the detection of offences (e.g. Breach of ASBO) or to support joint action (e.g. ShopWatch/PubWatch etc).
