Policies and procedures

Class definition: - “Here you will find current statements of principle providing guidance and direction to staff in respect of a specific issue or piece of legislation. Our policies establish the expected organisational behaviour in line with organisational objectives leading to a consistent approach to decision making. Our policies set out broad expectations and are the framework from which procedure flows.”

It should be noted that some material in this Class contains exempt information which, in the public interest, should not be published. Where this occurs the material will clearly show where information has been withheld and explain what exemption has been applied and why. Typically information may be withheld if its release would compromise the health and safety of staff, investigations and proceedings and law enforcement more generally.

We are at present reviewing a number of our policy areas and are unable to make all our policies available on this website at present. If you are looking for a policy that is not listed here, please email the Freedom of Information Officer
