Within these pages you will find details of your right to access the information that we hold. Information requests are broken into specific areas, most of which are covered here. The below provides guidance on where to look and who to contact in order to obtain the information you require.
Are you requesting information that is likely to be held by Devon and Cornwall Police?
If the information you are requesting is not likely to be held by Devon & Cornwall Police you will need to write to the Freedom of Information Unit at the public authority who holds the information that you require e.g. Devon and Cornwall Police Authority, local council, Magistrate’s Court etc.
Are you requesting your own personal data?
You will need to write to the Data Protection Unit, Devon & Cornwall Police, Police HQ, Middlemoor, Exeter, EX2 7HQ.
Are you requesting information about safety cameras within Devon & Cornwall?
Some of the information may be held by the Safety Camera Partnership
Are you requesting information relating to the Environmental Information Regulations?
Please contact the Freedom of Information Unit with your request for the information.
Do you require a police certificate for the purpose of an application for visas, work permits or residence in Australia, Bahamas, Belgium, Canada, Chile New Zealand, South Africa and the United States of America?
This certificate is processed entirely by the ACPO Criminal Records office (ACRO). All submissions and enquiries relating to this process should be directed to ACRO.

Are you requesting complaint data?
Some of the information may already be published on the IPCC website
Are you requesting information relating to general crime statistics?
