Have your say - youth independent advisory group
Sign up today and make a positive contribution to your community
We are looking for young people between the ages of 16 and 24 to form a youth independent advisory group (YIAG) in Devon.
We are looking for volunteers who have an interest in making a positive contribution to their community. This will include young people at risk of offending and young offenders.
We are keen to draw young people from all parts of Devon and are particularly interested in young people who have had some engagement or connection with the youth services (including the Youth Offending Service and Police Cadets).
We are looking for young people who are keen, committed and who want to be engaged. The membership is anticipated to be made up of young people from different backgrounds.
Reasonable expenses, incurred whilst a member of the YIAG, will be reimbursed.
Some of the aims in setting up a YIAG:
-
To improve and increase engagement between police and young people.
-
To act as a sounding board for any ideas around young people that the police might have.
-
To serve as a pro-active group taking forward the members’ own ideas, however diverse.
To apply, please download and complete the four forms in the right-hand menu under the 'documents' heading.
Any questions about the YIAG should be directed to Sgt. Andy McClenaghan, Youth Issues Manager for Devon (Tel: 01271 341261).
