Appeal after knifepoint robbery, Plymouth
CCTV images of suspect released
Police have released CCTV images of a suspect following an armed robbery at a store in Southway, Plymouth, last night [22 August].
A man entered Alger Walk Stores at 8.40pm and threatened the shop worker with a knife, demanding money from the till.
He took a quantity of cash from the till before running off in the direction of The Falstaff pub in Clittaford Road.
No-one was injured but the lone male worker was left extremely shaken by the incident.
Police are investigating the robbery and have released CCTV images in the hope that the public will be able to help identify a suspect sought in connection with the offence.
He is described as white, over 6ft tall and of slim build. He was wearing a grey hooded zip-up Nike top, dark coloured trousers and light coloured trainers.
Detective Sergeant Jon Mcloughlin, based in Plymouth, said: “This was a harrowing offence on a lone male shop worker. He was terrified and has been left extremely shaken by the ordeal.
“Officers are conducting enquiries today and I would ask people in the Southway area to check their dash cams and private CCTV to see if they have captured the suspect.
“I am also hoping that someone will recognise the clothing worn by the suspect and come forward with information.”
Anyone who saw the man in or around Alger Walk or the wider Southway area at the time of the offence is asked to contact police.
