UPDATE: Police incident - Pinhoe, Exeter


Man charged

A man has been charged following an incident which happened in a Sainsbury’s carpark in Pinhoe yesterday, Thursday 12 March.

Officers received reports at around 5pm that a vehicle had collided with pedestrians in the carpark. Emergency services attended the scene, assisted by the police helicopter.

As a result of the incident, three people suffered injuries; a man and a woman and a male police officer. Their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. All three were taken to hospital and have since been discharged.

DI Dawn Perriam said: “We would like to thank members of the public who came forward to assist in the incident, many of whom we have spoken to and taken statements from. We would also like to thank the staff at Sainsbury’s for all their help.”

Damien Price, aged 30 and from Exeter, has been charged with Section 18 GBH with intent, attempted Section 18 GBH, Section 47 ABH, Assault emergency worker by beating and Causing serious injury by driving dangerously.

Mr Price will appear before Exeter Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 14 March 2020.
