Police are appealing for witnesses

Police are appealing for witnesses to an unprovoked assault in Exeter which left a 20-year-old man with facial injuries.

The incident took place between 2am and 3am on Saturday 27 January outside the Jack Wills shop on the High Street.

The victim, from Exeter, was subjected to an unprovoked attack by unknown offenders. He lost consciousness during the assault and received a large cut to his head plus lost two teeth.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the assault to come forward and are particularly keen to speak to a group of men who assisted the victim by calling for an ambulance and waiting with him until it arrived.
