Motorcyclist seriously injured

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision on the A30 near Okehampton which left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.

Emergency services were called around 4.25pm on Sunday 24 May following the collision involving a Suzuki Bandit motorcycle on the eastbound carriageway at Whiddon Down.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s from Exeter, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

The road was closed for five hours while officers carried out an examination of the scene.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the motorcyclist travelling on the A30 prior to the collision.
