Appeal for witnesses

Police investigating a reported assault on a man on Anstis Street, Plymouth, on Sunday 12 September are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Officers were called to reports of a man being assaulted at around midnight.

The man sustained a serious hand injury and was taken to hospital for treatment.

A 32-year-old man from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm with intent and criminal damage and has been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.

The police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information that could help with their investigation.
