Elderly lady robbed by woman

Police are appealing for information about a daylight robbery of an 89-year-old woman in Exeter.

The pensioner was robbed of her purse while walking along the cycle path between Velwell Road and Horseguards, Exeter, yesterday, Tuesday 24 March, at around 11.15am.

She was approached by a white female thought to be in her 30s, of slim build, with dark hair tied back, wearing a red top with black trousers.

The woman pushed over the victim’s trolley, spilling her shopping and handbag onto the footpath. She has then shaken the contents of the handbag onto the floor and picked up a brown leather wallet before running away.
