Serious collision, Sandygate, Exeter


Motorcyclist taken to hospital

At around 4.10pm on Friday 25 September, emergency services were notified of a two-vehicle road traffic collision involving a green Royal Enfield motorcycle and a blue VW Scirocco on the M5 southbound on-slip at Junction 30, Sandygate, Exeter.

 The male rider of the motorcycle was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital with critical injures and his next-of-kin have been informed.

The road was closed for a number of hours whilst a forensic examination of the collision scene was conducted.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team attended the scene and are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision, or either vehicle prior to it, particularly those who may have dash-camera footage, to call police on 101, or email, quoting log number 554 of 25/09/20.
