Police appeal for witnesses to come forward

Police are appealing for witnesses of a robbery in St Austell to come forward– especially two members of the public who helped the victim.

Officers are investigating an incident in Trevail Way, near to the Costcutter store, at around 9.20pm on Wednesday 24 June.

A lone suspect is said to have approached a group of three friends before grabbing one of them, headbutting him, and stealing items from his pockets.

The victim, aged in his late teens, suffered a bloody nose.

It is believed that a man walking his dog came to the victim’s aid and that a person from a nearby flat also helped.

Police are keen to hear from both people and have appealed for any other witnesses to come forward.

The suspect is a white male, around 5ft 10’in in height, of slim build, with dark, brown hair and a slight beard.  He was wearing grey-coloured clothing.
