Serious injury collision, Falmouth


One man seriously injured

Police were called at around 10.30am on Saturday 4 April, following reports of a collision on Penwarne Road near Mawnan Smith, Falmouth. The collision involved a car and a tractor towing a trailer.

Police officers attended the scene along with colleagues from the Ambulance and Fire and Rescue services.

As a result of the collision a 46-year-old male, the driver of the car, received upper body injuries, thought to be potentially life changing/life threatening. He was taken to Derriford hospital.

The male driver of the Tractor sustained minor injuries.

Local officers and specialist officers from the Roads Policing Team attended the scene, closed the road and launched a full examination of the scene.

Police are appealing for anyone with information and anyone with dash-cam footage to contact police unless they have already been in contact with officers at the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 171 4 April.
