Appeal after mayoral chain and pendant stolen

Police investigating a burglary at the offices of Teignbridge District Council in Newton Abbot are appealing for information.

A mayoral chain and pendant (pictured) and jewellery worth several thousand pounds were stolen from display cabinets during the break-in at the premises in Forde Road on the Brunel Road Industrial Estate.

It occurred between 6pm on Wednesday 16 September and 7.30am on Thursday 17 September.

The stolen items are unique nature and may be difficult to sell on.

Police are urging anyone who knows of the whereabouts of the items, or has been offered them, to call 101 or email quoting crime reference CR/078140/20.
