Two men remain in hospital

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious injury collision on the A39.

Emergency services were called at around 6.35pm on Thursday 3 January to the A39 near St Kew following reports of a serious two vehicle collision.

For reasons unknown, the two vehicles, an Audi and a BMW, which were travelling in opposite directions collided head on.

The two drivers of the vehicles sustained possibly life-changing injuries and were taken to Derriford hospital by air ambulance.

The driver of the Audi, a 23-year-old man, and the driver of the BMW, a 35-year-old man, both sustained multiple serious leg injuries and remain in hospital.

The A39 and surrounding roads were closed whilst emergency services attended the scene. The road was reopened just fore midnight.

Investigation officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or the manner or driving other either vehicle prior to the collision, to contact police. Anyone with dash cam footage is also asked to get in touch.

Anyone who witnessed the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 654 of Thursday 3 January.
