Appeal after man is assaulted twice in a matter of minutes

Police are appealing for information after a man was robbed in a Plymouth park – then assaulted again minutes later as he lay stricken on the ground.

Officers are investigating two linked incidents which happened in close succession by Hooe Lake, in Plymstock, between 7pm and 7.30pm on Saturday 3 October.

The victim, aged in his 50s, suffered injuries including a broken leg.

He had been heading home from the pub when he was assaulted before falling to the floor and losing consciousness.

Money was stolen from his wallet and his mobile phone was taken from his pocket.

The man was then subjected to a further assault, minutes later.
