Five injured in serious collision, A303 Yarcombe

Witnesses sought by police

Police are appealing for witnesses following a two-vehicle collision at Yarcombe which left five people injured, three seriously.

Emergency services were called to the A303 at 4.30pm yesterday [Sunday 26 November] following the head-on collision between a Peugeot Partner vehicle and a BMW 218.

Two women in the Peugeot were taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. The driver, aged 64 and from France, sustained serious multiple injuries and the passenger, aged 79 and from Middlesex, sustained injuries which are described as life-threatening.

Three people from the BMW were taken to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, one with a serious leg injury.

The road was closed for seven-and-a-half hours while officers carried out an examination of the scene.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them on or by phone on 101, quoting log number 0567 of 26/11/17.
