Two charged following Holsworthy assault

Both men remanded in custody

Two men have been charged in connection to a serious incident in Holsworthy in the early hours of Sunday 4 August.

A 50-year-old Holsworthy man sustained a knife wound to his stomach following an incident in Fore Street. He remains in a serious condition in hospital in Bristol.

Richard Palmer, in his 50s, from High Street, Holsworthy, has been charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm, actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Richard Palmer, aged 31-year-old also from Holsworthy has been charge with actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Both appeared before Exeter Magistrates’ Court today [5 August].

Both have been held in remand until their next appearance at Exeter crown Court on Thursday 5 September.
