Serious collision, Chagford


Dash cam footage sought by police

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision in Chagford which left a male pedestrian with life-threatening injuries.

Emergency services were called around 1.55pm on Friday 12 April following a collision between a man and green Suzuki Jimny jeep on the A382.

The pedestrian, a 63-year-old man from Chagford, sustained a life-threatening head injury and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth by air ambulance.

The Suzuki driver, a woman in her 80s from the local area, was not injured in the collision.

The road was closed until 9.50pm for a thorough examination of the scene to be carried out by collision investigators.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to contact them. They are also keen to hear from anyone who may have relevant dash cam footage or anyone who saw the man walking along the road around 1.45pm/1.50pm on the day of the incident.
