Man fatally injured

A man has died following a two-vehicle collision which happened yesterday morning, Tuesday 27 February 2018.

Emergency Services were notified at around 9.45am to reports of a collision involving a white Peugeot van and a Massey tractor with a trailer carrying livestock on the A30 Westbound just prior to Bodmin.

The driver of the van, a 40-year-old man from West Yorkshire, sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

Emergency services attended the scene and the Westbound carriageway was closed.

The tractor driver was not injured. None of the cattle were injured in the collision.

The weather conditions at the time of the collision were fine, sunny & dry with good visibility. The Westbound Carriageway of the A30 was re-opened at around 16:50pm.

Police from the Roads Policing Team are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to contact police via email on quoting log 143 of 27 February.
