Police appeal after man and woman sustain broken bones in attack

Police in Newton Abbot are appealing for witnesses of an attack on a couple, with a man sustaining a broken jaw and a woman sustaining a broken hand.

The attack occurred at around 11.30pm on Monday 12 April outside The Jolly Farmer pub on Market Street.

During an argument between the male and female and a group, consisting of males and females, the couple were assaulted by members of the group.

A 21-year-old woman sustained a broken hand and a black eye and a 24-year-old man’s jaw was broken in two places.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or who was in the area at the time and may have seen the suspects, to get in touch.
