Motorcyclist left with life threatening injuries

A 24-year-old man has been left with life-threatening injuries following a serious collision involving a motorbike on the A388 at Saltash.

Officers were notified at approximately 9.30pm on Friday 22 December 2017 to reports of a single vehicle collision.


The vehicle involved, which was a Kawasaki motorcycle, was travelling from Callington towards the direction of Saltash. The incident occurred near to the entrance to Carkeel Barns.

As a result of the collision the man suffered life-threatening injuries and was conveyed to Derriford Hospital where he immediately underwent emergency surgery for the injuries sustained. 


Officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team along with a Forensic Collision Investigator and Scenes of Crime all attended the scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.


Officers are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw the motorbike prior to this collision. Police are also seeking dash-cam footage.
