Police appeal for information

Police were called at around 3.20am on Monday 13 January to Cliff Road, Plymouth following concern for the welfare of a man at an address.

Emergency services attended the scene where the victim, a man in his 30s, was located having sustained multiple serious head injuries. He has been taken to Derriford hospital where he remains in a critical and unstable condition. 

A 41-year-old woman and a 31-year-old woman, both from Plymouth, were arrested on suspicion of assault and attempted murder. They have been released on police bail until 10 February. 

Detective Inspector Dave Eames, said: “This investigation is still in the early stages and key forensic work is currently taking place.

“We are keeping an open mind and will work hard to establish the full facts in difficult circumstances. The public may well be able to assist with the investigation and may even have key information in their possession that they are not aware of.

“As a result we are interested to hear from anyone who saw anything unusual between the hours of 10pm on Sunday the 12th and 3.30am on the morning of Monday the 13th January in the West Hoe area of Plymouth, particularly around Cliff Road. We are also keen to hear from anyone with dash-cam footage in their vehicle who were in the area between those time frames.”
