Appeal for information

Police are appealing for witnesses following reports of an assault in Plymouth.

The incident was reported to have taken place between 3am and 3.20am on Sunday 9 June in Jigsaw Park.

The victim was reported to have been assisting a woman up the stairs outside M&S and Bills when he assaulted by three men who approached him from behind, knocking him to the floor. The three men were reported to have repeatedly kicked the victim, a local man in his 30s, to the head and body.

He was taken to Derriford hospital with multiple injuries and later released.

Police are keen to speak to the woman who had been assisted by the victim, and anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident.

Anyone who witnessed the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting CR/050940/19.
