Man named following collision

A man has been named following a fatal collision on the A35 near Wilmington on Thursday 11 October.

Emergency services attended the scene where a Honda had left the road and come to stop in a ditch. It was reported that the Honda has had been in minor contact with another vehicle prior to leaving the road.

19-year-old Blake Harkin, from Honiton, sustained life-threatening injuries are as result of the collision and was confirmed deceased at the scene.

The driver of the other car sustained a minor hand injury.

The road was closed overnight and reopened at 9.15am the following day.
