Man assaulted in Plymouth City Centre


Bladed weapon suspected to be used in attack

Police are currently dealing with an incident that occurred in the subway between Exeter Street and North Street, Plymouth at 7pm this evening, following an allegation of assault. A man is currently seeking medical attention but is not suffering from any significant injury. It is believed that a weapon may have been used during the assault, which is suspected to be a knife. As a result police officers will remain at the scene for the timebeing.

Det. Ins Dave Eames has commented "We are appealing to the public for any information that may assist with our investigation which is still in a reactive phase. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was near the location described around 7pm and saw or heard anything that may help. At this stage no arrests have been made. We will provide further information when we can. The information that I have, suggests that this is an isolated incident"
