Update on police investigation

Two suspects arrested in connection to a serious assault in Dartmouth have been released from police custody.

Police were called following reports of a disturbance outside a property in the Townstal area in Dartmouth at around 1.40am on Thursday 6 December.

Police and ambulance attended and located a man in his 20’s on the street in Britannia Avenue who had sustained a number of significant stab wounds to the chest

Two local people, a 22-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder; both have since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Police are appealing for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who may have information that can assist with the investigation.
