Police are appealing for information following an attack on a woman in Plympton on Sunday [7 April].

The woman was walking alone on Wolverwood Lane around 7.45pm when she was grabbed from behind by a man.

He demanded her possessions and rifled through her pockets. He ran off empty handed towards Plympton St Maurice after realising she wasn’t carrying anything of value.

The victim, in her 40s, was not injured but was left very shocked by the incident.

Police are appealing for witnesses and seeking a suspect who was is described as white, around 5ft 9ins tall with dark scruffy hair. He was wearing dark clothing.

Anyone who saw the man running in the direction of Plympton St Maurice or is able to assist with the investigation is asked to contact police via or by phone on 101, quoting crime reference CR/030687/19.
