Serious collision, Exmouth


Man dies following collision

Police have named a man who died following a collision in Exmouth.

At around 4.26pm on Saturday 20 April 2019, ambulance notified police of a road traffic collision that had occurred on the road access lane into Phear Park, Exmouth.

The reported collision involved the rider of a pedal cycle. The road was closed for a period of time to allow for scene examination and investigation.

Following the incident, 77-year-old Robert Smith, from the Exmouth area was flown to Derriford Hospital where he later passed away on Saturday 27 April as a result of his injuries.

Police continue into investigate this incident and appeal for anyone with information and any witnesses
