Individual has come forward to police

Police have identified and spoken to a man following an incident in Plymouth in the early hours of Tuesday 31 December.

Local officers launched an investigation following a family’s discovery of a suspicious male in their home on Frontfield Crescent, Plymouth, who then fled the scene when confronted.

Police subsequently issued an appeal and a local man recently attended Crownhill Police Station to speak to officers.

Detective Sergeant Peter Shotton said: “We have spoken to the individual and are satisfied with his explanation, and have passed on his sincere apology to the family whose home he entered.

“There will be no further action taken by the police, bar the words of advice we gave to him.

“We would like to thank the public for their assistance in this matter, and we once again wish to remind people to always ensure their windows and doors are locked at night.”
