The Royal Humane Society Honours 4-year-old Isabelle Wilkinson

On 6th February 2019, four-year-old Isabelle Wilkinson alerted Devon and Cornwall Police Staff via a silent 999 call. Although no speech was heard, the call was enough for the police to attend the address where police met Natasha Wilkinson, mother of Isabelle, who it transpired had fallen unconscious for an unknown amount of time. Isabella could not wake her mother and so had called 999. Upon arrival, police were able to request an ambulance to get Natasha the correct medical treatment.

Chief Constable Shaun Sawyer remarked, “Isabelle displayed courage and initiative far above her years by calling 999. Through alerting the police to her mother’s situation we were able to get her the help she required and ensure she could make a full recovery. Everyone at Devon and Cornwall Police is incredibly impressed by Isabelle and proud of her. I wish to pass on my warmest congratulations for a well-deserved recipient of this prestigious award.”

The ceremony will be held at 1pm on Friday 13th September at China Fleet near Saltash.
