Fatal collision, A39 Lynton


Motorcyclist has died

Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision on the A39 at Lynton on Saturday [11 May] in which a motorcyclist died.

Emergency services were called at 4.20pm following the collision between a black Peugeot 308 and a blue Kawasaki ZXR 400 motorcycle near Brendon.

The motorcycle rider, a 21-year-old man from Minehead, sustained fatal injuries. Members of the public and an off duty nurse performed CPR but he was pronounced at the scene by an air ambulance doctor.

The occupants of the car were uninjured.

The A39 was closed until 9.55pm while a forensic examination of the scene was conducted.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team and Serious Collision Investigation Team are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
