Serious assault, Exeter

Witnesses sought after man suffers broken jaw

Police in Exeter are appealing for information after a man suffered a broken jaw in an unprovoked attack on New Year’s Eve.

A 21-year-old man was walking along the path between Western Way and the Quay at around 11pm – 11.30pm, when he was punched by an unknown man, who was walking with another male.

He was knocked unconscious and subsequently required surgery for a broken jaw.

Officers are keen to speak to a man who was pushing a pink pram nearby and is understood to have seen the incident, because he could be a key witness of the attack.
