Serious assault, West Looe


UPDATE: Two men arrested in connection with incident

Police made timely and significant enquiries in relation to the report of a serious assault on a male in the Princess Road and Quay areas of West Looe in the early hours of Saturday 11 July.

 As a result, two men, aged 32 and 34, were arrested on suspicion of assault.

They were taken to Newquay Police Station for interview and have been subsequently released under investigation.

 The victim has now regained consciousness and is expected to recover.

 This was an isolated incident and it is believed that those involved knew each other, while no-one else is currently thought to be involved.

Police would still like to hear from any witnesses.

Man in stable condition following assault

Police are appealing for witnesses or any private CCTV footage after a male was believed to have been assaulted in the Princess Street/Quay area of West Looe last night [Saturday 11 July].

Two calls were made to police, between around midnight and 1am, that related to males fighting in this area.

A male was subsequently located outside of Looe on the Polperro Road, near to Trencreek Holiday Park, with head injuries. He is currently in Derriford Hospital and his condition is described as stable at this time.
