Police appeal after man’s wallet stolen by suspect in balaclava

Police investigating a robbery in which a man’s wallet was stolen in South Molton on Thursday 3 October have issued an appeal for information.

The incident took place when the victim, aged in his 20s, was walking through the Community Woodland leading out towards Pathfields Business Park at around 8am.

He was approached by a male suspect wearing a black balaclava who barged into his shoulder.

The suspect told the victim he had a knife and demanded he hand over his wallet, before fleeing across the woodland.

The suspect is described as a young male, of slim build, around 5ft 11in in height, and was wearing a full-face black ribbed balaclava with just the eyes and mouth exposed. He was also wearing a black coat with the hood up and black jogging bottoms.

Police are urging any witnesses to come forward and in particular would like to hear from a male on a push bike and dog walkers who were in the area at the time.
