Update: Man dies following A38 Plymouth incident

A 20 year-old man was pronounced deceased at Derriford Hospital. His next of kin has been informed. Enquiries are ongoing. 

Appeal for witnesses

Police were called following concern for the welfare of a man on the westbound carriageway of the A38 at Manadon, Plymouth, at around 00.30am today [10 June].

The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries believed to be life threatening.

A road closure was put in place and it is expected to remain closed for some time to allow investigations to be carried out.

The incident is ongoing.

Anyone who has any information or dashcam footage is asked to contact police via email on or by calling 101, quoting log number 0026 of the 10 June.

Police would like to thank the members of public for their patience whilst the scene is investigated.
