Witness appeal

Police are appealing for information following an altercation which resulted in an assault on Friday 3 August in Plymouth.

The incident which took place outside the Octagon Social Club in a side lane of Manor Gardens in Stonehouse between 8.30pm and 9.45pm.

Two men were outside the club when they got into an altercation with one another. Following the altercation a 37-year-old man suffered an injury to his back which required medical treatment at Derriford Hospital. The victim was later discharged.

A 39-year-old man from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of assault and was released under investigation pending further enquiries.

There was possibly a third man present who was not directly involved although he may have witnessed the incident.
